Day 11

I woke up this morning feeling a little sick, but decided to push through it and go to Casa Hogar Douglas with the group anyways.  After 2 hours of attempting to get some work done, it became apparent that I was getting basically nowhere and was feeling pretty sick and nauseas.  At some point it was pointed out that I was looking pretty pale on top of that, so Stacey drove me the 5 minutes back to campus so I could get some more rest and try to feel better.  Several staff members came to check on me and after I woke up later they told me that I was dead asleep and completely unresponsive when they knocked on the door, but could see that I was still breathing and was fine.  I guess I really need to catch up on some sleep!!  At this point I am feeling better, still a little shaky and hot, but better.  Tomorrow is my day off, which means I get to sleep as much as I want and I plan on taking full advantage of that!

  1. I always try to tell people how exhausting it is to live abroad where you spend so much mental energy dealing with the language and the customs that there are days you just can't move and you crash and sleep for an eternity and then you wake up feeling guilty wondering if you are just lazy. No doubt about it, you need time to recover while you are there. Loved the story of the boys at church resting......very typical in Latin American countries where young kids often take care of even younger kids.
